Municipal elections will be held in the coming weeks, but there is still time to get mail-in ballots.
The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is October 20 at 10 a.m., which is also the day of the election itself.
While the last day to request a mail-in ballot package to be sent by courier was October 3, the mail-in ballots requested after then can only be picked up at the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office.
For those who did request a mail-in ballot before October 3, the courier will attempt to deliver the package once, after which the voter will have to pick it up at the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office if it was not successfully delivered.
Once done filling out the mail-in ballot, the voter must ensure the mail-in ballot package is received by the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office by noon (12 p.m.) on October 20.
This is required for the vote to be counted.
While people are also able to have the ballot couriered to the office, it is recommended the ballots are dropped off by the voter, due to the deadline quickly approaching.
When sending in the mail-in ballot package, voters must also include a copy of an acceptable ID, which could be a printed photo of the ID or a photocopy of the ID.
Anyone who requires assistance with their mail-in ballot, or has any questions, can contact 403-476-4100 or e-mail mailinballots@calgary.ca for assistance.
