Local organizations str accepting donations of Halloween candy over the coming week. One of those is Hannahlyn’s Backpacks, a local Okotoks charity organization.

Hannahlyns Backpacks are now also starting their winter backpacks that they usually send out around the holidays.

Hannahlyn’s mother, Leanne Clifford joined us to tell us more about this initaive:

More about Hannahlyns Backpacks:

Hannahlyn Clifford is a 14-year-old girl who is partially non-verbal due to cerebral palsy and has spent much of her youth being active in community charity and volunteer work. Her main initiative, titled Hannahlyn’s Backpacks, is something she and her mother collect and send out twice every year. Together, they sort out donations of various items into bags, which they then give to the homeless. Alongside leftover Halloween candy, they’ll accept donations of winter clothing, like jackets and mitts, as well as toiletries such as toothbrushes, soaps and personal hygiene products.

Those looking to donate leftover Halloween candy or other items can find information through Hannahlyn’s Backpacks Facebook page.
