One More Light To Illuminate The King Eddy on Saturday

By Sarah Scott Jan 22, 2026 | 4:18 PM

Suicide remains the second leading cause of death among youth and young adults aged 15 to 34, and in Alberta alone, nearly 600 lives are lost each year. It’s a sobering reality and one that continues to spark important conversations around mental health, access to care, and community support.

That’s why, just days after Blue Monday on January 24, Airdrie’s country-rock duo Flaysher are using their music to make a difference with their One More Light fundraiser concert.

Joined by special guests Alex Hughes and Julia Vos, the band will take the stage at the King Eddy in Calgary for a night dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

All proceeds from the show will support the Thumbs Up Foundation, an organization focused on improving access to mental health care, raising awareness, and advocating for systemic change.

Ahead of the event, we sat down with Kim from the Thumbs Up Foundation to talk about what it means to them to partner with this event.
