An investigation into stolen property led to dozens of charges

6 people face almost 40 charges in connection to a stolen property investigation.

The Calgary Police have charged six people with almost 40 charges in connection with stolen property investigation.

Five men and one woman are facing 37 charges, collectively, in connection to a stolen property investigation, which saw police recover four stolen vehicles and seize approximately 194 grams of various drugs.

In October of 2025, police received reports of suspicious activity, which included suspected drug trafficking in the 200 block of Woodridge Drive S.W.

Over the following three months, between Sunday, November 2 2025, and Thursday, January 8, 2026, police conducted an investigation that included the recovery and seizure of multiple stolen vehicles.

On top of the vehicles being recovered, that investigation also led to the seizure of 172.4 grams of fentanyl, which has an approximate street value of $17,240, and 20.6 grams of methamphetamine, which has an approximate street value of $412.

As a result of that investigation, six individuals were arrested and charged.

“With the help of patrol members across various districts, as well as our Tactical, Canine and HAWCS teams, we were able to successfully apprehend multiple people who are believed to be responsible for various drug trafficking and stolen property related crimes,” said Inspector Scott Neilson of the Calgary Police Service in a media release. “We were able to return the stolen vehicles to the rightful owners and hold people accountable for their actions. We strongly encourage Calgarians to report suspicious behaviour so that police can take necessary steps to ensure the safety of the community.”

33-year-old Justin John Bishop has been charged with one count each of possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of Methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Bishop is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, January 30.

31-year-old Fritz Zachary Chiefmoon has been charged with one count each of possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose. Chiefmoon has also been charged with four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Chiefmoon is scheduled to appear in court today, Monday, January 26.

27-year-old Mathew James Crane-Watchmaker has been charged with one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and one count of obstructing an officer.

Crane-Watchmaker is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, January 30.

24-year-old William Mark Rider has been charged with one count each of possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of cocaine and fentanyl, failure to comply with a release order, possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon, and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Mark Rider is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, May 21.

26-year-old, Harley David Moyah has been charged with one count each of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of opioids for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of driving while disqualified, and three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.

Moyah is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, February 11.

31-year-old Amelia Royaleigh Arnold has been charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine.

Arnold is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, February 6.
