Calgary Indigenous Arts, Culture & Tourism Comes to Life with Lowa Beebe and Sable Sweetgrass

By Sarah Scott Feb 3, 2026 | 4:44 PM

We were honoured to welcome two inspiring leaders into the studio on Tuesday (Feb 3), Lowa Beebe and Sable Sweetgrass, co-founders of Calgary Indigenous Arts, Culture and Tourism.

CIACT is an Indigenous-led, non-profit organization based right here in Mohkínstsis, Calgary, focused on strengthening economic sovereignty, cultural revitalization, and Indigenous-led tourism across Treaty 7 territory.

With Calgary also set to host the 2027 North American Indigenous Games and Gathering, a powerful celebration of Indigenous culture, arts, tourism, and athletic excellence, the timing couldn’t be better to learn more about the work being done behind the scenes.

It was such a pleasure to sit down with Lowa and Sable to talk about CIACT, the impact they’re making in Alberta, and what’s ahead as Calgary and Edmonton prepare to welcome the 2027 NAIG.
