A benefit game will be happening this weekend in Stavely, following a car crash that killed several young hockey players.
Members of the Southern Alberta Mustangs hockey team were on their way to a hockey practice, when they got into a car accident.
That accident ended the life of three members of the Mustangs team.
Now, there is going to be a fundraiser game to help raise money for those affected on Sunday, February 8 at the Stavely Arena in Stavely.
According to the Fundraising Coordinator for this game and mother of Mustangs players who were not involved in the accident, Megyn Perkins, the Mustangs Family Benefit Game Night will help the team to get closure, as well as raise money.
This will be the first time the team has played since the accident happened on Monday morning.
They were originally going to play the Calgary Bandits on Sunday, February 8, but the game has been postponed.
Since the accident happened, fundraising has begun to help those affected.
The money raised at the benefit game will help to cover the cost of flights, and more.
Perkins says they have already received donations from across Canada and even donations from the United States.
As part of the benefit game, a United States Premier Hockey League referee will be donating his time to ref the game.
A photographer will also be in attendance to snap photos for the families.
