Brettyn Rose Is Back with “Leavin’ On My Lips,” Book Recommendations and We Talk About Women in Country

By Sarah Scott Mar 9, 2026 | 11:07 AM

Brettyn Rose is a rising country artist from Okotoks, Alberta, whose music blends an acoustic aesthetic with honest lyrics, powerful vocals, and just a hint of sparkle.

With a captivating voice, relatable songwriting, and a sound that’s completely her own, Brettyn is quickly proving she’s a unique and necessary voice in country music.

She was named a Top 8 semi-finalist in the SiriusXM and Canadian Country Music Association’s Top of the Country program in 2025 and has earned five Country Music Alberta Award nominations, including 2026 nods for Horizon Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter(s) of the Year for her standout single “Wild West.”

With notable performances at CCMA House in 2025, Country Thunder in 2023, and the Country Music Alberta Awards in 2023, plus a debut EP on the way, Brettyn is firmly establishing herself as an artist to watch.

Brettyn came into the CJWE studio to talk about her latest release, “Leavin’ On My Lips” (March 6, 2026), her love of reading and what it means to her to be a woman in country music during International Women’s History Month.
