The area west of Calgary could receive nearly 10 inches of snow overnight.

The area from just south of Brazeau Lake in the north to the American border in the south, and from Cochrane in the east to the B.C. border in the west is under a Snowfall Warning.

Heavy snowfall is expected to occur tonight, with areas receiving between 15 (5.9 inches) and 25 cm (9.8 inches) of snow.

This snowfall will intensify early this evening and is expected to continue throughout the night and taper off Thursday morning.

As a result, travel will likely be challenging, and visibility will likely be reduced.

Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate, due to the snow accumulating.
