By Sarah Scott Mar 11, 2026 | 5:11 PM

Oki, Aaniin, Tansi, Aba washded, Taanishi, Nya:wen, Halu! Calgary! The Neechi Clan Weekend Takeover is coming to Bow Valley College.

Neechi Clan is a free-to-join online community bringing together Indigenous gamers, streamers and content creators through platforms like Discord.

Founded by Kai and Shannon, the group was created to offer a welcoming and inclusive space where Indigenous players can connect, make friends, and support one another in gaming and content creation. Neechi Clan also aims to address the lack of Indigenous representation in gaming by fostering a positive community free from racism, homophobia and other toxicity.

Along with connecting gamers online, the group plans to host tournaments, mentor new creators and promote cultural connection through gaming — all while building a supportive community rooted in fun.

The Neechi Clan Weekend Takeover is all about content creation workshops with Neechi Clan members Kai and Shannon, and Tara Barnes and Fortnite and Mario Kart esports tournaments with prizes, a Round Dance and more!
We had the absolute please of having Katlyn Sproule, Community Engagment Lead – Bow Valley College – Digital Entertainment Nexus and Dennis Asham of Siksika Nation, Bow Valley College Student and VALORANT esports varsity team member in the studio to give us ALL the details:
