World Cup of Hockey coming to Alberta in 2028

Edmonton, Calgary and Prague will host hockey’s best-on-best in 2028.

The National Hockey League announced Monday morning that the two Alberta cities and the Czechia capital will host its World Cup of Hockey in February 2028.

 

 

Robert Hayes, President and CEO of Calgary Sports and Entertainment, tells CJWE that they started the process to host the World Cup of Hockey about a year ago.

Andrew Knack, Mayor of Edmonton, tells CJWE that he is excited for the Alberta capital to host the tournament semifinals and finals.
