A high volume of missing dog reports has prompted a public service announcement.
Siksika Animal Services is alerting the community to a recent spike in missing dog reports across the Nation.
They are seeing more dogs disappearing from yards and homes, unsecured gates and open doors leading to dogs wandering off, dogs without collars or ID, and well-meaning community members who pick up dogs, but are not able to locate the owners.
As a result, the Siksika Nation Tribal Administration is asking all community members to stay aware and keep pets safe.
To help keep dogs safe, secure your yard, gates, and home.
Also, keep dogs supervised, make sure pets wear collars and ID tags, have dogs licensed with Animal Services, and report missing or found dogs immediately.
Siksika Animal Services is available for field response and support.
To report a missing dog, call 403-734-3815 or email animalservices@siksikanation.com.
