This April, the Town of Okotoks will be hosting a summit about building resilient communities.
The Okotoks Living Systems Summit will be taking place at the Viking Rental Centre from April 13 to 15, which will bring together business leaders, non-profits, educators, and community changemakers to engage in a conversation about how communities and organizations can work to build resilience, strengthen collaboration, and support long-term well-being.
This summit is designed to be practical, engaging and human-centred, and participants are invited to participate in a dynamic mix of conversation, learning, and real-world application.
As part of this summit, there will be sessions led by respected practitioners and thought leaders, including Elder Reg Crowshoe, Kate Raworth, Dr. Paul Atkins, Michael H. Shuman, Myrna Bittner, Greg Hart, Rob Avic, and Vaden Somers.
While there will be numerous topics covered, such as exploring practical approaches to community-level economics, Elder Crowshoe will be sharing a Blackfoot perspective on natural laws and governance systems.
Throughout this Summit, those in attendance will take part in interactive sessions, facilitated roundtables, and practical discussions, which will encourage curiosity, shared learning, and honest dialogue.
This Okotoks Living Systems Summit reflects the Town’s commitment to fostering conversation, cross-sector collaboration, and innovative approaches to community resilience.
