With it being the Easter Long Weekend, there will be facility closures coming to Southern Alberta.
Let’s take a look at what will be closed, and when, this weekend:
In Okotoks, the Municipal Centre and Operations Centre, Fire Station No.1, RCMP/Municipal Enforcement, the Okotoks Eco Centre, the Okotoks Art Gallery and Okotoks Museum & Archives, and the Okotoks Family Resource Centre will all be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6.
The Okotoks Rec Centre will have reduced hours on Friday, April 3, being open only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Natural High will be closed. The Viking Rentals Centre (Arenas) in Okotoks will also have reduced hours on Friday, being open only from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On Sunday, April 5, the Okotoks Rec Centre will have normal hours, while the gym, Natural High, will be closed. Viking Rentals Centre will also have normal hours on Sunday.
Then, on Monday, April 6, the Okotoks Rec Centre and Natural High will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the Viking Rentals Centre (Arenas) will be open from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Down in High River, Town Hall (Joint Administration Building), Greater Foothills Family Centre, Family and Community Support Services, Public Works, the Recycling Centre, RCMP Administration Office, and the Fire and Protective Services Administration Office will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6.
The Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex will also be closed on Friday, April 3, but will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday, April 6.
The Recycling Centre in High River will be open for regular hours on April 4 and 5.
With these closures in High River, those who have garbage collection scheduled for Friday, April 3, the Town is asking for the garbage bin to be put out by 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 2.
Despite these closures, emergency services, such as the Fire Department and the RCMP, will not be affected.
Recycling and Organics collection in Diamond Valley will start earlier on Friday, April 3, so the Town is asking people to have bins at the curb before 6 a.m.
In Kainai Nation, also known as Blood Tribe, the Blood Tribe Administration will be closed on Friday, April 3.
Down in Picher Creek, the municipal office will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6.
