The 2026 Alberta Treaty Hockey Championships are taking place this weekend across Calgary

Playoff hockey is in the air, as Thursday marked the kick off of the 2026 Alberta Treaty Hockey Championships with U11 teams all the way up the U21 teams in action this weekend. Games take place across arenas throughout Calgary as early as 7:30am to as late as 9:15pm with no shortage of action to follow. The event brings Indigenous athletes from across Alberta, and gives them an opportunity to be celebrated as talented hockey players.

Games are scheduled through to Sunday, where the championship medal games will take place throughout the day.

Candace Morningbull of the Alberta Treaty Hockey Association, told CJWE what to expect, which ages and groups are playing.

The full schedule for the weekend including who is playing when can be found on the 2026 Alberta Treaty Hockey Championships Facebook page, with all the championship medal games being played at Max Bell Arena on April 12th.
