Galley of Timeless Toys in Drayton Valley Helps Visitors Reconnect With Childhood

The Sugar Shack vintage candy store has been the spot for memory lane in Drayton for a long time, and now visitors can feel a blast from the past: The Galley Of Timeless Toys.

The extension onto the Sugar Shack was started by Craig Leece, after he and his wife spent years collecting hundreds of toys, many of which have been donated. The displays have a variety of toys from the 20th century, even classic movies and games.

We spoke with Craig about the new addition to his store and where his inspiration came from.

Craig also talked about how their collection has grown.

We asked about why the galley is important for the younger generation.

There is no admission for the museum, and Craig says it should stay that way. Visitors and locals are also asked to donate any collectibles that would fit into the museum, even on a loan basis.

This is now only the third such museum to open in Canada, and first in Alberta.
