Mînî Thnî Stoney First Nation resident charged with second-degree murder

A resident of Mînî Thnî has been charged with second-degree murder.

A Mînî Thnî Stoney First Nation resident has been charged with second-degree murder.

At roughly 7 p.m. on April 26, Cochrane RCMP responded to a family disturbance at a residence on Mînî Thnî Stoney First Nation.

RCMP officers attended the scene and the suspect had fled the residence.

On scene, offices located a deceased female in a secondary residence on the property.

The suspect was located in a wooded area near the residence, and was subsequently arrested.

An autopsy was conducted on the deceased on April 27, which determined the death to be a homicide.

As a result, 18-year-old resident of Mînî Thnî Stoney First Nation, Jorge Twoyoungmen, has been charged with the second-degree murder of 38-year-old Calgary resident, Kayla Rothe.
