An emergency wildfire alert has been released last night for Clearwater County, just northwest of Calgary. The out of control fire is currently near Highway 734, near the Highway 584 junction in southwest Clearwater.

In addition, there is currently an evacuation order for the area as well, as the blaze is classified as out of control. Sundre RCMP says a 10 kilometre radius of crown land has now been evacuated as the flames spread quickly.

Residents are being asked to prepare for evacuation immediately.

There are blocakdes around the area and nobody is allowed in. The provinces website has the blaze well over 10,000 hectares in size as of now. The closures are expected to last through the long weekend.
