As you may know, Troy Kokol is an award-winning Canadian singer, songwriter, producer, and animator whose work has made a major impact across music, film, and television. Troy is also a friend of CJWE and the Windspeaker Radio Network and we love having him in the studio!

Based in Calgary, Troy has more than 250 professional songwriting credits and has worked with artists including Brett Kissel, Shane Yellowbird, Michelle Wright, and Aaron Goodvin. He co-wrote Shane Yellowbird’s hit Pick Up Truck, named one of the top Canadian country songs of all time by Billboard, and has earned recognition as a two-time CCMA Songwriter of the Year nominee. In 2024, Kokol was also named Indigenous Artist of the Year at the YYC Music Awards, further cementing his reputation as one of Canada’s most versatile and respected creators.
