The Stampede is strengthening it’s safety for attendees this year with a new Stampede Park Operations Centre.
The new centre is intended to help organizers work alongside first responders more efficiently, as well as an on-site meteorologist. More chances include enhanced screening, more training for security staff, and a crowd management expert.
The response is in part due to 2025’s incident involving a Don Toliver concert, where crowds had spilled into the fair grounds, and three people were stabbed.
A heavier police presence, an additional security zone for tent concerts away from the fairgrounds, and 600 cameras will be assisting in the added security measures.
Peace officers will also be on patrol at all the high traffic platforms, including Stampede and Downtown West-Kerby station.
