Residents of Calgary had an opportunity to immerse themselves in Métis traditions and history during a lively cultural celebration at The Confluence.
The festival, now in it’s third year, buzzed with energy Sunday through engaging activities like traditional voyageur games and lively fiddling performances.
Attendees also joined meaningful conversations with Métis community members and Elders, helping build stronger connections and understanding of Métis identity and experiences.
Exhibits brought culture to life, with one highlight being the chance to step inside a genuine trapper’s tent and experience a piece of historical Métis life firsthand.
And whats a festival without food. There was plenty of traditional Métis food available, including bannock, soups, and other classic comfort dishes.
whether you are Métis, a Calgarian, or just visiting during the summer, the festival has continued to grow as a welcoming space for everyone.
It’s a chance to experience something meaningful and take part in a celebration that feels deeply rooted in tradition.
