The City of Calgary has posted it’s update on noise complaints received during the Calgary Stampede this year, and has broken the number of complaints down into which festival got complaints.
The city says peace officers were were monitoring sound levels at permitted events, and conducted noise measurements to assess compliance.
“We continue to work with event organizers as bass levels remain a challenge,” says Ryan Pleckaitis, Chief, Community Standards. “We will continue monitoring all venues closely with the goal of achieving compliance through working with operators or through enforcement, if necessary.”
The city also says they will remain committed to finding a balance between the festival atmosphere and the comfort and needs of nearby residents.

The city is also urging drivers to be aware of intermittent traffic delays on 9th Ave S.W between 14th Street and 11th Street S.W, as event organizers are disassembling their event spaces.
