The Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation in Lethbridge received a generous gift of $500,000 from G. Thompson Livestock Co. of Iron Springs, Alberta, to support the Bringing Hearts Home campaign for the Cardiac Department.

The campaign’s goal is $30 million and now has reached it’s goal.

Thompson’s commitment reflects the remarkable spirit of philanthropy unifying communities across southern Alberta by bringing more advanced cardiac care closer to home for patients and families throughout the region.

“Our employees and their willingness to show up each and every day to do exceptional work are a big part of the reason we are in a position to make a contribution of this nature,” said Glen Thompson, Founder, President and CEO of G. Thompson Livestock Co. “Dr. Sayeh Zielke has championed this project with incredible passion and commitment. I wanted to support not only this important project, but also her leadership.”

Founded in 1997, G. Thompson Livestock Co. has grown into one of Western Canada’s respected cattle feeding and agricultural operations, serving Alberta and Saskatchewan while maintaining a longstanding commitment to innovation, stewardship and the communities.

Community philanthropy continues to strengthen the Bringing Hearts Home campaign and support the cardiac-care vision as the project moves through the provincial planning and delivery process.
