Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm warnings as of 10:30am Tuesday morning, as conditions appear favorable for the development of potentially severe storms, strong wind gusts or large hail.
The agency warns driving could become hazardous, and that conditions should develop this afternoon and into the evening.
Areas in southern Alberta currently under the warning:
- Olds
- Cochrane
- Airdrie
- Calgary
- Canmore
The warning extends all the way up to Rocky Mountain House, as much of western Alberta could be in the systems path.
