Canmore RCMP are investigating after a body was found in the Bow River on Sunday

A rafter found the body in a section of the river east of Canmore and called emergency services at approximately 9:40 a.m.

Paramedics and Canmore Fire personnel responded and confirmed the individual was deceased.

Police have identified the man as a 52-year-old Canmore resident.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
