Taber Corn Arrives: Johnson Fresh Farms Brings Southern Alberta Staple to Stands across the province

By Digital News Aug 16, 2026 | 8:38 PM

Taber corn is back just in time for Albertans craving their seasonal fix, with Johnson Fresh Farms now selling the popular peaches-and-cream cobs.

David Johnson, manager of Johnson Fresh Farms, said the harvest is slightly behind last year’s schedule but right on pace with the farm’s five-year average.

“The corn is looking really good,” Johnson said. “We had a slow wet start, but the hot August weather has the crop doing really well.”

The farm hopes to offer corn through late September, though availability will depend on the weather.
