Taber will officially mark its Kraft Hockeyville 2026 win on Thursday as the community receives its winner banner and cheque during the Cornfest grand opening ceremony—the first major celebration since the town was named this year’s recipient.
Four-time Stanley Cup champion Craig MacTavish, former Edmonton Oilers captain and head coach, will appear at the Kraft Hockeyville tent from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for photos and autographs.
The tent is located at the southwest corner of the Administration Building and will remain open throughout Cornfest, offering activities such as cornhole, a hockey accuracy shooter game, colouring stations and sticker giveaways.
Kraft Peanut Butter Bear mascots will also be on hand, circulating through the festival grounds during the events.
Taber earned the Kraft Hockeyville 2026 title through a community-wide campaign highlighting the town’s strong hockey tradition.
The win brings $250,000 toward arena upgrades and the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game.
