Honouring a Legacy: The Challen Littlechief Memorial Fashion Show, Traditional Feast, and Round Dance.
On the Facebook event it reads:
“On August 31st, one day after what would have been his 30th birthday, we invite the Calgary community to gather at The Confluence to celebrate the life, spirit, and memory of Challen Littlechief. Challen was a proud Indigenous man, a dedicated partner, and a loving father of three(Rebel, Rayah and Chally), he was tragically taken from us in a workplace accident. To keep his memory alive and turn our grief into a path of hope for others, we are launching the Challen Littlechief Memorial Scholarship. In partnership with Aboriginal Futures, 100% of event proceeds and donations will go directly toward supporting urban Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education and training in the skilled trades.”
