One man has been seriously injured after a tour bus rolled down a hill at Alberta’s Columbia Icefield. According to the RCMP, the man was the only one involved, and nobody else was on the Ice Explorer bus during the accident.
The incident took place around 1pm Tuesday, around 120 kilometres from Jasper. The bus usually takes tourists up to the Athabasca Glacier, between the Alberta and B.C boundary.
Investigating the accident has been turned over to Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety department, and the company has cancelled all tours until Thursday.
Three people died and 14 were injured in a 2020 Ice Explorer crash, where the vehicle lost control, and rolled. It was later determined by a judge to be a “catastrophic braking issue.”
