Indigenous Filmmaker Jeannette Many Guns is releasing her latest film Kiitokii “Praire Chicken” as the Executive Producer at the 25th Annual Blackfoot Confederacy Conference on September 22 at the The Westin Calgary Airport Hotel in Calgary.
The film is a cultural story from the Siksika Nation people with deeply rooted traditions and heritage. And you can catch the 15 minute documentary at the conference.
Jeanette loves her culture and filmmaking. Jeanette is fluent in Blackfoot, having grown up listening to her great grandmother’s tongue. Her great grandmother didn’t speak English, so the grandchildren had to learn the language to communicate with her. Jeanette and her siblings are fluent speakers and are passionate about promoting the language.
Jeanette is a self taught video producer and editor. Her films have been featured in numerous film festivals and more.
