The gathering, scheduled for Saturday Sept 19 at Siksika Administration Park will mark Recovery Month and centres on healing, physical wellness and strengthening connections.
It includes a self-timed five-kilometre run for those seeking a challenge and a shorter, more accessible community walk suited to people of all ages and abilities’
Organizers stress that the focus is on taking part and building community, not on racing or ranking.
Families are welcome to walk or run the route together, with children and strollers encouraged so everyone can cross the finish line as a group.
A selection of prizes, such as gift cards and hotel stays, will be available.
Red Road Reclamation is coordinating with Siksika Public Safety and Animal Control to keep the day safe for everyone involved.
Organizers are promoting the event with the message: “Different pace, different journey, same finish line.”
