Even with cooler temperatures on the way, rattlesnake season isn’t quite over yet.
The City of Lethbridge is reminding hikers, runners, walkers and anyone spending time in the River Valley to keep an eye out for rattlesnakes as they prepare for winter.
Snakes are still active on trails, in the coulees and forests, and some have even been spotted making their way into residential neighbourhoods.
If you come across a rattlesnake, stay calm, keep your distance and slowly back away. The City says rattlesnakes generally try to avoid contact with people.
