The CTrain Service through downtown Calgary core was temporarily shut down early Thursday morning after a pedestrian was struck by a train.
EMT’s were called to 7 Avenue between 7 Street and 8 Street SW around 6:15 a.m. following several reports of a crash.
According to Calgary Police, one person received injuries after being struck by the CTrain. The current status of the injuries are currently unknown. The incident disrupted the CTrain service for Red Line and Blue Line trains along 7 Avenue SW, with transit officials saying riders could still see delays as they work to get trains back onto schedule.
An investigation into the cause of the incident in ongoing.
