The Government of Alberta is putting $14 million toward 20 sport and recreation projects across the province through its new Active Communities Initiative.
Several Southern Alberta projects are among those getting funding.
The Taber Golf Club will receive $348,469 to renovate its clubhouse and patio, along with accessibility upgrades.
Meanwhile, the Brooks Community Football Association is getting $1.5 million to develop an outdoor multi-sport complex at Brooks Junior High School.
The project will include an artificial turf field, sport lighting, spectator amenities and a field house.
The province says the 20 projects are expected to generate more than $46 million in economic activity across Alberta.
