The Lethbridge Hotel was destroyed by a fire earlier this year, and the City of Lethbridge has issued a permit for the building’s demolition.
The work will require road and sidewalk closures and is slated to begin as early as the week of July 24.
Early In the morning hours of February 24, 2023, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) crews responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of 5 Street South.
The fire was determined to be intentionally set and following an investigation a 33-year-old male was charged in May.
The specifics of the closures will be determined as work proceeds.
The work is weather dependent and will require a specialized removal process. No timeline has been given regarding the completion of the demolition.
