Meta, The parent company of Facebook and Instagram is blocking its Canadian users’ access to news content.

The move was made in response to the Government of Canada passing Bill C-18, the Online News Act, which sought to make companies like Meta and Google pay news organizations in the country for the content they post.

As of approximately 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, None of Windspeaker Media’s Facebook page were available.  This includes CFWE North, CJWE South, 89.3 The Raven and Cuzinradio.  When you try to access the pages, a message comes up, saying, “This Page Isn’t Available Right Now.”
