Flying drones in Banff National Park can lead to a $25000 fine

Banff National Park is issuing a warning and reminder to those visiting the National Park, the recreational use of drones at all Parks Canada places is not allowed.

People caught operating a drone within park boundaries without an approved permit, may get in trouble with the law and be fined upwards of $25,000. The only drones which are permitted are commercial use drones, and permits are required for those.

Those who see a drone in Banff National Park, are encouraged to report it to park wardens via Banff Dispatch 403-762-1470.
