January 4th marks Ribbon Skirt Day across Canada and one Saskatchewan regalia maker has been making ribbon skirts for her community and consumers alike since the late 1990’s.
Tracey George Heese of Ochapowace Treaty 4, First Nation has a company called Timeless Shadows, with her focus being on creating regalia, including ribbon skirts.
Tracey spoke with Windspeaker Media discussing her company, and the importance of educating people on regalia and the cultural significance.
