On Feb. 17, thousands of people gathered for the annual Miskanawah Friendship Round Dance.

Miskanawah means “many little paths” in the Cree language and has been serving the community of Calgary for the past 35 years through various programs to help aid the surrounding Indigenous Community.

The goal of the round dance is to bring the greater community of Calgary together to build bridges and relationships with one another.

CJWE spoke with Tara Fillo-Hunt of Miskanawah about the Round Dance’s history in the city of Calgary.
