The Telus Spark Centre will be showcasing two new Indigenous exhibits starting this month.
In March, the science centre held Indigenous Science Night “Balancing The Elements”, where folks could enjoy Indigenous workshops, drumming, food, and performances from the Sorrel Rider Drum Group from Siksika Nation!
There was also a gallery called “Sacred Defenders of the Universe”. This tells the story of how The Great Conflict gave birth to four superheroes, known as the Four Sacred Elements: Water (Aqueous), Fire (Embers), Earth (Terra) and Wind (Aireus). These sacred defenders rediscover their universal gifts of elemental energy which are found inside all human beings – gifts passed down through the ancient ancestral teachings.
Kori Czuy is the Manager for the Indigenous Engagement Team.
With lots of engagement and language Cuzy hopes Indigenous youth who visit the gallery can find their own influence from the heroes being featured.
