A local state of Emergency was declared in the Blood Tribe on May 3rd as the community is dealing with an extreme toxic batch of drugs that have not only made its way through southern Alberta.
Blood Tribe officials are asking the community to check on their family and to make sure they have Naloxone/Narcan kits. Members can pick up kits from the Blood Tribe Firehall, Spirit of Hope Community House and local pharmacies.
When dealing with a case of drug poisoning members are advised to call 911 immediately and know that Naloxone/Narcan is not effective for every drug.
Local officials encourage anyone who witnesses any criminal activity including drug trafficking to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
