The Taber Police Service announced its Regional Community Standards Unit has expanded.
On Friday, August 18, 2023, Taber Police announced that the Village of Barnwell will now officially join the Community Standards Unit partnership.
The Community Standards Unit consists of one Community Standards Officer. During the spring and summer months, the unit expands to include two full-time seasonal Bylaw Officers.
The unit focusses on patrolling the community and responding to calls for service for reported violations of community standards and bylaw infractions.
The unit will also work in compliment to the RCMP in Barnwell, and will focus on enforcing bylaws and provincial legislation, with further focus on proactive patrols in the village.
