September 1, 1905, marks the day the Alberta Act came into effect and formally established the province of Alberta.

Alberta Day will be celebrated in municipalities across the Province and the celebration will give Albertans an opportunity to come together, celebrate and experience all of Alberta’s rich culture, spirit and heritage.

On September 2, free public events will take place at Edmonton’s Legislature Grounds and Calgary’s Heritage Park, featuring a concert with folk-rock legends Captain Tractor in Edmonton, and country stars Nice Horse in Calgary.

Municipalities across the province are also hosting Alberta Day events September 1 to 3.
