The City of Calgary is making it easier for Calgarians living with low income to access affordable telecom services through a new Fair Entry subsidy program.

Fair Entry clients are eligible for low-cost internet, starting today, as well as wireless and TV services through the Rodgers Connected for Success program without requiring a separate application process.

The pilot program is Fair Entry’s first public/private partnership subsidy program.

The City of Calgary continues to search for opportunities to leverage programs and supports that will benefit Calgarians living with low income, contributing to social equity objectives.

The Rogers Connected for Success program is available to over 2.5 million low-income Canadians receiving various government income supports, now including eligible Fair Entry participants.

There are no funds exchanged as part of this partnership.

Fair Entry launched in 2015 as a single-application process that enables Calgarians living with low income to access many fee-reduced programs from The City and their partners.

There are currently 97,000 Calgarians approved for Fair Entry.
