For the past four years, the Calgary Hitmen have been hosting Every Child Matters game as a sign of their commitment to ensure that all children know their importance.
This is also done in partnership with various Indigenous organizations and Siksika Health Services to also honour those who attended residential schools.
CEO Tyler White of Siksika Health spoke at a press conference on January 25th, sharing how the game continues to impact youth in the Calgary Area.
While the game is becoming a highlight of the year for the Calgary Hitmen who may not have the largest attendance of Calgary’s sport teams, it brings the community together.
Calgary Hitmen VP Mike Moore touched how the game has been affecting the WHL as a whole.
Hitmen Goalie Ethan Buenaventura who has been playing as a Hitmen for the past three years, expressed how the night is more than just putting on a jersey for himself and the team.
The fourth annual Every Child Matters Hockey Game will be taking place at the Scotiabank Saddledome Feb. 10.
