A new immersive experience which brings the magic of Disney to Calgary is now open at the BMO Centre.
This new experience will also be available during Stampede as an indoor activity during Calgary’s greatest outdoor show.
The Calgary Stampede and Disney have a long history with one another as back in the 1960s Walt Disney was the martial for the Stampede Parade.
The newly renovated BMO Centre is set to be fully opened during the ten days of Stampede, with the Disney experience as exciting experiment towards more indoor activities.
Before the experience became available to the public, the Calgary Stampede invited local kids from Kids Up Front Calgary to get an exclusive preview.
Kids up Front is a non-profit organization in Calgary that believes all kids should have access to enriching experiences like arts, culture, and sporting events.
Samantha Jerace Mother of one of the children invited to previews shares how seeing her children take in one of their passions brought tears to her eyes.
The experience is produced by Lighthouse Studios who where the minds behind the Immersive Von Gogh experience back in 2021.
Because of the commercial success of Von Gogh, Lighthouse Studios began talks with Disney about creating an experience like Von Gogh using the history of Disney’s 100-years history of animation expertise.
Producer of Lighthouse Studios Cory Ross explains how guests will navigate through the world of Disney Animated Studios.
The illuminated experience will be running from June 12 until August 18 at the BMO Centre.
Tickets for the Immersive Disney Animation are available online through the Calgary Stampede’s website.
