Crews are finishing the construction phases this summer before welcoming its first class of students to Horseshoe Crossing High School in the fall.
The school will serve Grades 9 through 11 students, when it opens, with Grade 12 classrooms being added during the 2025-26 school year.
The intent to wait for grade 12 classrooms until the following year, is not to disrupt graduating students from their current education path and to mitigate student stress over switching to new facilities.
Horseshoe Crossing High School will support roughly 100 students per grade level, upon opening, which is considerably lower initially than its eventual capacity.
Additionally, the school will house approximately 14 professional staff, including teachers and administrators and five to seven support staff.
Horseshoe Crossing High School is located at 167 Mowat Street in Langdon.
