Calgary Police have charged one man and two women with more than 50 offences in relation to the kidnapping of a man that occurred in northeast Calgary last month.
On May 9th, 2024, CPS became aware of a kidnapping incident after a man attended the hospital for several injuries after being repeatedly assaulted and being held against his well. Investigators believe the victim attended a hotel room at the Emerald Hotel & Suites on Sunridge Blvd. on May 6th, at approximately 1am to meet a woman he knew.
Once the victim arrived at the hotel, he was met by the woman and a man who he knew and was held in the room for several days where it is alleged he was robbed of his belongings, restrained and assaulted multiple times.
After being transported in between two different residences, the victim escaped and attended a nearby hospital.
CPS later investigated the hotel and arrested three people, 30 year old Samantha Lawrence, 36 year old Thorren John Aldrich, 29 year old Kaitlyn Marlene Elliott, all three have been charged with several offences including but not limited to:
- Kidnapping
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Robbery
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Seven counts of breaching a release order
- Possession of a prohibited firearm
CPS say the incident is believed to be drug related.
