Weather conditions have been changing in the area and recent fire bans in Strathmore and Wheatland County have been changed to a fire advisory.
According to officials, both advisories were issued due to dry and warm conditions in the area.
Fires requiring a permit, including open air burning and fireworks have been banned, while BBQ’s and fire pits with a screen or chimney are still allowed.
A fire advisory is put in place to alert residents about conditions which present a moderate to high fire risk.
Residents are reminded to supervise fires in fire pits and have a bucket of water or a garden hose readily available, for safety purposes.
Fire officials will continue to monitor conditions and changes to the advisory will be made as appropriate.
