Whoop-Up Days is in full swing and the first day of the Siksikaitsitapi Powwow has brought members of the Blackfoot Confederacy together for two days of celebration.
On Tuesday August 20, the princess pageant saw 17 contestants take part to become Siksikaitsiapi royalty.
After a day of judging, the new royalty where crown at the start of the Powwow with Lira Bull Bear and Mirabel Good Striker of Siksika becoming the Tiny Tot and Sr. princesses with Breelie White Quills of Kainai taking the Jr. princess title.
White Quills shared with CJWE her excitement of becoming the Miss Siksikaitsiapi Jr. princess.
Thursday August 22 is the final day of the Siksikaisitapi Championship Powwow where champions will be crowned in various categories.
