It’s a merry time of year: the snow is fluttering through the air, twinkling lights are appearing around the neighbourhood, and the Innisfail RCMP are out conducting checkstops.
Highway safety aside, a checkstop to look forward to is coming December 7, between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM: The Charity Checkstop!
Complete with flashing red and blue lights, the event that raised a total of $14,065.70 for local charities will be on 50th Street between 48th and 49th Avenue, both Eastbound and Westbound. Dear ol’ Saint Nick and the Safety Bear will also be helping volunteers and RCMP collect new clothing, food, new toys, and cash.
It all counts and helps our neighbours in need, so don’t avoid this checkstop.
Innisfail Food Bank, Innisfail Christmas Bureau and the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre are the charities taking part in this year’s Charity Checkstop.
